AMENDING THE CONSTITUTION
TEST STUDY GUIDE

This test is a combination of multiple choice and short answer to scenarios. The last half will be various scenarios where you will be asked to determine if the actions were constitutional or unconstitutional based on your knowledge of the amendments.

Know and be able to explain:
√How to propose and ratify amendments
√Content of first ten amendments / title of these amendments
√Which amendment was repealed? Content?

The following are the key concepts we focused on. Be able to explain/define/apply these rights.
Rights of accused: double jeopardy, testify against self, attorney guarantees, jury guidelines, trial elements, punishments, search and seizure, due process, presumption of innocence, Miranda, capital punishment, probable cause
Freedom of expression: speech, press, assembly, petition
Freedom of religion: establishment and free exercise, Lemon Test
Voting rights: which are guaranteed by Constitutional amendment, how have they changed
