This unit follows the United States through the terms of our first four Presidents: Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison. The time period covers our new court system, the emergence of political parties, and the first war faced by the new country. Read chapters nine and ten in the text as we discuss key events in class. We will also work on writing a persuasive essay.
